How to Appear Offline on STEAM Friends List (Settings Tutorial)
1To appear offline on Steam, follow these steps:
Launch the Steam App:
Open the Steam client on your Windows, Mac, or Linux computer.
If you’re not already logged in, enter your username and password to sign in.
Choose the “Invisible” Status:
Click on “Friends” in the top-left corner of the Steam window.
Select “Invisible” from the drop-down menu.
Now, you’ll be invisible to your Steam friends and other users. You can still chat and play games without notifying others of your activity.
Revert Back to Online:
To appear online again, click “Friends” and choose either “Online” or “Away”.
Keep in mind that your Steam activity, such as hours played in specific games, will still show on your profile.
Additionally, if you prefer a quicker way to change your status, use the Friends List:
Open your computer’s system tray.
Click the Steam icon.
Click “Friends”.
Click the arrow next to your username.
Select “Invisible”.
