How to Connect Firestick Remote if Not Pairing (Quick Guide)
To connect a Firestick remote that’s not pairing with your Firestick using your phone (since you lost the old remote), follow these steps to reset and re-pair it. This addresses connectivity issues and ensures proper pairing.
Reset the Firestick Remote:
Remove the batteries from the remote.
Press and hold the Home button for 10 seconds.
Insert fresh, high-quality AAA batteries (non-rechargeable alkaline, like Duracell or Energizer) in the correct orientation.
Wait 30 seconds, then test by pressing buttons.
Set Up Fire TV App:
Download the Amazon Fire TV app (iOS/Android) on your phone.
Connect your phone to the same Wi-Fi network as your Firestick.
Open the app, select your Fire TV device, and enter the 4-digit code shown on your TV (if prompted).
Use the app’s virtual remote (swipe to navigate, tap to select).
Restart Firestick:
Unplug the Firestick, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back in.
Wait for the home screen to load.
Re-pair the Remote:
In the Fire TV app, go to Settings, Controllers & Bluetooth Devices, Amazon Fire TV Remotes, Add New Remote.
Press and hold the Home button on the remote for 10-20 seconds within 10 feet of the Firestick.
Look for an on-screen pairing confirmation or a blinking light on the remote (if applicable).
