How to Sync Volume Controls to Remote on Firestick & TV (100% Works!)
To sync the volume controls of your Firestick remote with your TV, follow these steps:
Make Sure HDMI-CEC Is Enabled on Your TV
CEC allows the Firestick to control the TV's volume and power.
Steps (general, varies by brand):
Go to your TV Settings.
Look for HDMI-CEC, Anynet+ (Samsung), Bravia Sync (Sony), or similar.
Turn it ON.
Set Up Equipment Control on the Firestick
Steps:
Go to Settings on your Firestick (gear icon).
Select Equipment Control.
Tap Manage Equipment - TV - Change TV.
Select your TV brand and follow the on-screen prompts.
It will ask you to test volume—if you hear the sound, click Yes.
If it doesn’t work, retry or select “No” to try a different signal.
Test the Volume and Power Buttons
After setup:
Use your Firestick remote’s volume buttons.
Use the power button (top left) to see if it turns your TV off/on.
Troubleshooting Tips:
No response from the TV? Re-check your HDMI-CEC settings.
Wrong TV brand selected? Re-do the setup under Equipment Control.
Still not working? Try pairing the remote again via:
Settings - Controllers & Bluetooth Devices - Amazon Fire TV Remotes - Add New Remote
