Hi, this video shows you how to use the Nintendo Switch Console on an old VGA Monitor without any HDMI ports. This same setup will apply to old Televisions without HDMI ports but on the TV you will not need separate speakers as the TV will have speakers built in already (unlike my old monitor) but you may need a long 3.5mm stereo lead or a 3.5mm to twin phono (red and white RCA connectors) depending on the Audio Inputs on your TV.
The picture is perfectly acceptable as on my old monitor it is outputting 720P (HD Ready) but your monitor may well be capable of 1080P(Full HD). It will not be as good as using a HDMI cable on a Full HD TV because using VGA is an analog signal rather than the better digital signal but is definitely usable.
