Broccoli is a good source of fibre and protein, and contains iron, potassium, calcium, selenium and magnesium as well as the vitamins A, C, E, K and a good array of B vitamins including folic acid.

When cooking this in boiling water it only takes 2-3 minutes any longer you have over cooked the vegetable now on that note the more healthy way to do it is either in a steamer or microwave due to the water can reduce the vitamin sources but for me I prefer steamed or boiled.

Remember to preheat the water to boiling before putting the broccoli in.
