How To Cope With Trauma: 6 Therapeutic Tips For Symptoms
Have you ever experienced a traumatic event? Was it something that stuck in your mind no matter how long ago the incident occurred?
If so, this video is for you. In this video, I will discuss a few ways to cope with trauma-related symptoms such as insomnia, depression, anxiety, poor eating habits, lack of motivation, withdrawal or isolation, suicidal thoughts, self-injurious behaviors such as cutting, and negative self-talk (i.e., negative things you say about yourself to yourself).
Having a plan on how to cope with a crisis is important. Knowing how to rebound from a traumatic even is even more important. Although schools have a protocol for managing a crisis, I often encourage my individual families to discuss and prepare for a crisis that may occur at home or in school. What’s there to lose?
