Hi. I'm Max Dalton, and in this video I'm going to talk through how to create an Apple ID.
An Apple ID is required to use any of Apple's devices or services. Creating an Apple ID is incredibly easy, and you can do it even if you don't own any Apple hardware. However, realize that once you create an Apple ID, there's no way to delete it, and it will continue to exist -- even if you decide you no longer want or need it.
And now, let's walk through the steps to create an Apple ID.
Step 1. Open your Web browser and navigate to appleid.apple.com. You'll land on on an Apple ID login screen.
Step 2. Click "Create Your Apple ID" in the upper right corner of the screen. A Create Your Apple ID screen appears.
Step 3. Fill out the first set of fields. The first set of fields requires your first name, last name, the country where you're located, and your birthday.
Step 4. Fill out the second set of fields. These fields include the email address you want to associate with this Apple ID (which will also serve as your Apple ID username). Additionally, you'll be required to supply the password you want to set up with your account, and a password confirmation.
Step 5. Fill out the fields in the third section, which will require that you select three security questions, and then supply answers to those questions. The types of security questions you can choose include the name of your first pet, your dream job, your favorite sports team, and more.
Step 6. Review the check box selections in the fourth section, and remove any items you don't want to select.
Step 7. Enter the characters that appear in the Captcha image in the field to the right of the image.
Step 8. Tap the blue "Continue" button at the bottom of the screen when you're finished. A dialog box appears in the center of the screen, asking you to verify your email address in order to officially create your new Apple ID.
Step 9. Check the email inbox associated with the email account you supplied as your Apple ID username. You should find an email from apple@apple.id.com with a subject line that reads "Verify your Apple ID email address." Open that email. Within that email you'll see a 6-digit number. Enter this 6-digit number into the six blank fields on the screen asking your to verify the email address you supplied associated with your Apple ID, and then click the blue "Continue" button. The account screen for your new Apple ID appears, displaying all of the information associated with your Apple ID.
Congratulations! You've successfully set up a new Apple ID, and you can now use this ID during setup on any new Apple devices, or just as a way to access Apple services.
