OBS gives you the ability to set custom keyboard shortcuts for different features within the program. You can assign shortcuts through the hotkey settings in OBS.

You can also search for specific events via the input bar at the top. To assign a keyboard shortcut to an action click on the empty box next to it then press your shortcut. OBS will automatically record your input and save it.

You may assign the same shortcut to enable and disable an action. This allows you to start and stop recordings via the same hotkey combination..
