How to Enable Push to Mute & Toggle Mute on Discord
227Discord allows you to create custom keybinds for the application. A favorite is the push to mute or toggle mute feature. These allow you to mute your microphone with a keyboard shortcut or mouse press.
Toggle mute allows you to press the button once to toggle on and off your mic mute. The push to mute requires you to hold down the key to remain muted, resulting in your mute ending when released.
For most people the toggle mute is preferred as it allows you to continue playing or working while muted.
The toggle mute feature works well when tied with a macro pad like the Elgato Stream Deck. Many streamers and content creators bind their Discord mute to their macro device.
