6To drop weapons and ammo to give to a friend in GTA 5 Online, follow these steps:
Dropping Weapons:
PC:
Open the weapon wheel by pressing TAB.
Highlight the weapon you want to drop.
Press F9 to drop the weapon. This will remove the weapon from your inventory, and it will fall to the ground for your friend to pick up.
PlayStation:
Bring up the weapon wheel by holding down the Touchpad.
Use the right analog stick to select the weapon.
Press and hold Triangle until the weapon drops.
Xbox:
Open the weapon wheel with the View button.
Highlight the weapon with the right stick.
Press and hold Y to drop the weapon.
Dropping Ammo:
PC:
With the weapon wheel open and the weapon selected (TAB), press F10 to drop ammo for that weapon. The ammo will appear as a bundle on the ground.
PlayStation:
With the weapon wheel open (hold Touchpad), highlight the weapon, then press and hold Square to drop its ammo.
Xbox:
Open the weapon wheel (View button), select the weapon, then press and hold X to drop ammo.
Important Notes:
Weapon and Ammo Retention: Once you drop a weapon, it's removed from your inventory. You'll need to buy it again if you want it back. Ammo, however, can be picked up by your friend, but you'll still keep the ammo count for that weapon in your inventory.
Visibility: The dropped items will be visible to everyone in the session, not just your friend. So, you might want to ensure you're in a private or friends-only session for this.
Limitations: Not all weapons can be dropped. Some special or unique weapons might not have this option, and some weapons might not retain modifications when picked up by another player.
Picking Up: Your friend needs to walk over the dropped weapon or ammo to pick it up. Weapons will automatically equip if there's an open slot, but if all slots are filled, the weapon will replace one in the wheel.
Session Restart: If you or your friend leaves and rejoins the session or the game, the dropped items will no longer be on the ground, and the weapons will not be in their inventory if they logged out.
