How to Duplicate or Extend Display to 2nd Monitor on Windows 11 PC (Settings Tutorial)
Configuring multiple monitors on Windows 11 is straightforward. You can either duplicate your screen (where secondary displays mirror the primary monitor) or extend it (combining both screens to create an extended desktop). Here’s how to do it:
Prepare for Multi-Monitor Setup:
Connect your monitors correctly, ensuring they are powered on and connected via HDMI or DisplayPort cables.
Confirm that Windows 11 detects all connected monitors:
Open Settings.
Click on System.
Go to the Display page and verify that all monitors are listed.
Optionally, click Detect to force the system to find any missing displays.
Rearrange Displays:
Open Settings.
Click on System.
Navigate to the Display page.
Optionally, click Identify to determine which monitor you’re rearranging.
Drag and drop each display to arrange them according to their physical layout on your desktop. Ensure they align at the top perfectly.
Choose Your Viewing Mode:
PC screen only: Only the primary display is used.
Duplicate: Secondary displays mirror the primary monitor.
Extend: Both screens combine to offer an extended desktop.
Apply Changes:
Click Keep changes to save your configuration.
