Turning off an Xbox controller connected to your computer or Steam can be done in a few ways:

Remove the Battery Pack:
If you’re using a wireless Xbox controller, the most reliable method is to remove one of its batteries. Simply slide off the back battery cover and take out one or both batteries. Your controller will turn off, and you can slide the battery back in when you want to use it again.
Hold Down the Guide Button:

For wireless controllers, you can hold down the Guide button (the large Xbox logo in the center of the controller) for six seconds. This should turn off the controller. However, some users report issues with this method on a PC, so removing the battery pack might be a better option.
Disconnect Bluetooth:

If you’re using a wireless Xbox controller via Bluetooth, you can turn it off by disconnecting it from your PC. Navigate to your computer’s Bluetooth settings and disable Bluetooth to sever the connection between your PC and the controller.

Unplug the Controller:

If you’re using a wired Xbox controller, simply unplug the cable at either end to turn off the controller. Plug it back in when you want to use it again
