π Want to boost your productivity by managing multiple tasks at once on your Windows 11 laptop or desktop? Windows 11 offers several multitasking features to help you efficiently manage and switch between apps and windows. Hereβs how to enable and use multitasking on your device:
Steps to Enable and Use Multitasking on Windows 11:
Open Settings
Click on the Start menu and select Settings, or press Windows + I to open the Settings app.
Go to Multitasking Settings
In the Settings window, click on System from the left sidebar.
Then, click on Multitasking.
Enable Snap Windows
Under Snap windows, toggle the switch to On. This will allow you to easily organize multiple windows on your screen.
You can also enable additional options such as:
When I resize a snapped window, automatically adjust the other windows
Show snap layouts when I hover over a window's maximize button
When I drag a window to the edge of the screen, automatically snap it into place
Use Snap Layouts
To use Snap Layouts, drag a window to the top of the screen or hover your mouse over the maximize button (the square icon in the top right corner of the window).
You'll see several layout options, such as side-by-side, grid, or a 3x3 layout.
Select a layout, and Windows will automatically adjust the window to fit the selected layout. This feature is ideal for organizing multiple apps and documents on the screen.
Snap Groups
Snap Groups let you group snapped windows together, making it easier to switch between tasks.
After arranging windows using Snap Layouts, right-click the Taskbar, and you'll see a Snap Group of all the windows youβve snapped together. You can click on it to switch between them quickly.
Virtual Desktops
For even better multitasking, use Virtual Desktops to organize different workspaces.
To create a new virtual desktop, press Windows + Tab to open Task View, then click on New desktop at the top.
You can switch between desktops by pressing Windows + Ctrl + Left/Right Arrow.
Taskbar Settings
To further enhance multitasking, you can customize your taskbar settings by going to Settings Personalization Taskbar.
Adjust how apps are pinned, icons are arranged, and notifications are shown.
Tips:
