While it's easy to get immersed into the virtual reality environments on yuur Oculus Quest 2, you still have to deal with the real world around you. If you'd rather not take your virtual reality headset off every time you have to get a drink, move something out of your VR space, or do something else, you can turn on the Double Tap for Passthrough feature. The Double Tap for Passthrough feature on your Quest 2 lets you double tap either side of your headset to turn on Passthrough which takes you out of your virtual reality environment and shows you the physical world around you.

Now let's walk through the steps to turn on the double tap for passthrough feature on your Oculus Quest 2 VR headset.

Step 1. Navigate to your Oculus Quest 2 home screen, and then press the "Oculus" button on your right-hand controller to bring up the menu bar.

Step 2. Click the "Apps" icon on the menu bar. The Apps screen is displayed.

Step 3. Click "Settings." The Settings screen is shown.

Step 4. Click "Guardian" in the list of options on the screen. The Guardian screen is displayed.

Step 5. Make sure "General" is selected in the menu on the left side of the screen, and then click to turn on the toggle associated with "Double Tap for Passthrough." A message is displayed on the screen letting you know that by enabling the double tap for passthrough feature on your Oculus Quest 2 you can double tap either the left or right side of your virtual reality headset to turn on the passthrough feature and see your physical environment. Further, you can double tap either side of your headset again to return to your VR environment.

Step 6. Tap "Enable." The Double Tap for Passthrough feature will be turned on going forward.
