How to Find & Repair Crashed Ships from Distress Signals (2 methods) - No Man's Sky Path Finder 1.2
This No Man's Sky Video Walkthrough will teach you all you need to know about how to find and salvage crashed ships, plus what to expect from crashed ships since the Path Finder Update introduced broken inventory slots.
how to find a crashed ship from transmission towers
how to find distress signals from NPCs
how to fix a crashed ship
Transmission towers are no longer so easy to find in No Man's Sky. One potentially easier way to find distress signal coordinates which point to crashed ships is by talking to NPCs either in the space station or in some of the buildings you come across on planets.
Once you get the distress signal coordinates, it's time to find out if this ship is worth your time. Does it have more inventory slots than your last ship? Does it have the warp drives and weaponry you require for your exploration? Are you able to afford the cost of repairing the broken slots? If so, you're ready to accept the new ship and get started with the basic repairs.
Repairing a crashed ship requires Heridium, Iron, and Zinc. Once you've repaired your Launch Thrusters, Pulse Drive, and Shield, you'll be able to take off in your new ship. Don't forget to dismantle all the tech from your old ship only AFTER you find a new ship to trade to. Keeping as much tech as possible in your ship helps ensure you'll find a crashed ship with more technology already built on it. You may need to repair some of this tech as well.
