4:01 HIDDEN AREA

#EldenRing

Shortly after beating the boss of the capital area, you will meet an NPC who suggests you look for the Three Fingers, telling you they can be found deep below the capital. There are actually two disconnected sewer areas in the capital, so the Three Fingers are easy to miss. To find them, start at the site of grace called the Avenue Balcony, head down the stairs, take a left, then jump over the fence. Drop into the well, and proceed through the short sewer area.

Once you open this set of doors, take a left, then another left to find a site of grace. This entire area is a dark, stinky maze, very similar to the Depths in Dark Souls 1, so to save you some confusion, let me show you one path that I know will work.

Leave the site of grace and take a left. Drop down through this hole in the floor. Take a right as soon as you can. Follow the pipe, and be careful not to fall through the holes in the floor. It’s easier not to fall down if you hug the side of the pipe. Once you come to the first T-intersection, take a right through the bars. Head up the ladder, and you’ll find yourself in the first chamber connected to the site of grace. Pull the lever here to open up a shortcut for yourself. You can see here this is the gated doorway right by the hole we dropped in at the start.

Head through these doors to the right. Carefully drop off the ledge to the left. Keep moving through the sewers past these zombie guys. Head down this ramp, and turn back around to go through this doorway. Follow this pipe until you reach a wide, open chamber, and climb up the ladder at the far side of the room. Our goal is to get to the other platform in this room, which has a ladder that needs to be kicked down.

First, head through the doorway and go straight to open up a shortcut directly across from the site of grace. Head back through the doorway and run up this single pipe. Keep following the pipe all the way to the back of the room. Be careful not to get overwhelmed by the imps. Drop down to the left, then proceed through the first doorway on the right. Kick the ladder down to give yourself another shortcut.

Drop into this pipe and move forward. Take the first left turn you can. Drop down the first hole in the floor. Turn around, and you can open up a shortcut here. Proceed in the other direction, head down the ladder, and ride the elevator down to a new site of grace. Pat yourself on the back, because you’re finally out of the sewers! One note here is that there is more to discover in the sewers, including another dungeon, so if you’re a completionist, you’ll want to go back and explore some more on your own. You can probably work the rest of the way forward on your own, but make sure to check the end of the video to find an extra secret area that’s very easy to miss if you’re not looking for it.

Next, move forward. Beat the boss in this room, then smack the back wall here to open up a hidden passage. Next up you have a short jump challenge. It’s pretty nervewracking. Here’s the path I took. You might also want to explore this jump puzzle area a little more on your own, as there are some items in here that I’m not showing in the video.

Once you reach the bottom, you’ll come to a door. To open the door, you need to take off your armor. Go in, and you’ll get a cutscene. Be advised that going through this doorway changes a lot in your game, including your relationship with certain characters, as well as the ending you’ll get. You can undo this decision once, but doing so is a long, complicated process, so beware. Once you finish the cutscene, take a rest at this site of grace and you’ll get another cutscene. I’d also recommend visiting the Two Fingers after you meet the Three Fingers for even more story and lore developments. Let me know in the comments what you think about this lore and this ending. Is it a good choice? A bad choice? Who are these fingers, and what does it really mean to align yourself with the three instead of the two? Let me also invite you to join our Discord if you want to drop in and discuss anything at all about Elden Ring gameplay or lore. It’s linked in the description.

Really quick before you go, if you made it all the way down to the Three Fingers, make sure not to miss this hidden doorway right here. You can’t use weapons down here, so roll to get through it. You’ll find another chest, and behind it, there’s yet another hidden wall. To me, this seems like a really obvious callback to the route to Ash Lake in Dark Souls 1, and I absolutely love that. I won’t say anything more about this hidden area, so you can have fun exploring it and discovering what it is for yourself. Thanks for watching!
