Flickering gameplay is caused by an issue with NVIDIA game filters and OBS game capture source. To fix the flicking gameplay in OBS you will need to change the method of capture. There are a few options that can be used to solve the flicker issue. The best method is to switch to using a display capture source for capturing your gameplay. This method will ensure you still get the best frame rate without any of the flashing issues. Display capture will capture an entire monitor, meaning if the game isn’t in fullscreen, or you tab out, then the stream will show whatever is behind your game window.

Another alternative is to use an OBS windows capture source. A windows source will work similarly to game capture, with it only capturing the specified window.

In some cases turning off the game mode and hardware acceleration GPU Windows settings can stop the flickering in OBS.

As a final solution, turning off any NVIDIA game filters will solve the issue. While this may not be favorable it will solve the flickering issue in OBS. Some color adjustments available from game filters can be made using the NVIDIA control panel. With the control panel you can make adjustments to the overall color of your monitor to improve in-game visibility. Using the NVIDIA control panel will have less of an impact on frame rate than game filters, and won’t cause flickering issues with OBS.
