When links are posted on Discord a preview is embedded under the link. The embed takes up a decent amount of space, and can look unprofessional. There are a few solutions that allow you to remove the embed from a message.

The first option is to delete the embed. Link preview embeds are contained in their own section of the message. Hovering over the preview will reveal a cross, once pressed the embedded preview will be removed from the message. Once removed it can’t be added back.

Enclosing a link in triangle brackets, otherwise known as the greater and less than symbols. When a link is enclosed in the symbols no embedded preview will be provided. If a message is edited to include the brackets then the embed will be removed.

The final method to remove link previews on Discord is to do it through channel permissions. Removing the permission to embed links for the everyone role, and other roles, will prevent message embeds in that channel. This can also be done for categories to save time in applying the permissions to every channel in your server.
