How to Fix Gameboy and Gameboy Color Overlay on RetroAch both using the same Gambatte Libretro Core
My quick video walkthrough on how to fix the Gameboy and Gameboy Color overlay issues on RetroArch when using the same Gambatte Libretro Core.
Problem: The issue arises when both systems use the same emulation core but have different overlays for their respective consoles. In this situation, only one console overlay will be applied to both types of consoles, regardless of the chosen override.
Solution: To resolve this, follow these steps to manually set each game in the console using game overrides:
1) Utilize the Overrides feature in RetroArch.
2) Load a saved game that serves as a template for all others requiring changes.
3) Save the game as 'Save Game Override' to apply the desired overlay.
Yes, this process is tedious (actually, a pain in the ass.) Another approach is to modify the config file, but that also takes up a lot of time. I'll update with a better fix if I come across one. The ultimate resolve is that RetroArch DEV fix it ;)
