This video will show you how to fix (or work around) the following error message when installing the IDT PC sound drivers on Windows XP or Windows 2000:
The hardware detected is not supported by this IDT software package. The install will be aborted
I encountered this error trying to install the sp43746.exe on a Hp Mini 110-1030 Ca netbook running Windows XP SP2.
Instead of allowing sp43746.exe to extract to C:\swsetup\SP43746\HDAQFE\xpsp2\us , take note of the extraction path. Once you receive the error message, close the installer. Navigate to the temporary folder extraction target, then navigate the subdirectories to find your appropriate operating system, for example:
C:\swsetup\SP43746\HDAQFE\xpsp1\us
C:\swsetup\SP43746\HDAQFE\win2ksp4\us
and run the executable therein, for example, kb888111xpsp2.exe
This installs the driver silently.
