How to fix Media Offline H265 files in Davinci Resolve with AMD GPU
30If you've got a problem with Davinci Resolve where H.265 files are showing as "media offline" there are a couple of things that might help fix the issue.
Firstly it could be that you don't have the right codecs on your system.
You can grab those from the Microsoft Store (which is the safest way) by searching for HVEC Codes on the store (https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9nmzlz57r3t7?hl=en-US) or by copying and pasting this into your browser:
ms-windows-store://pdp/?ProductId=9n4wgh0z6vhq
If that doesn't fix it, then it could be that you've got the same issue as me, especially if you're using an AMD GPU. Goto preferences and media decoding and deselect hardware decoding. This might do the trick!
