How to Fix Microphone or Headset Not Working on Discord (Switch Devices)
If your microphone or headset isn't working on Discord, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and fix the issue:
Check Physical Connections:
Ensure your microphone or headset is properly plugged into the correct port on your computer.
If you're using a USB headset, try connecting it to a different USB port.
Set the Default Input Device:
Right-click the sound icon in the taskbar and select "Open Sound settings."
Under "Input," ensure your microphone or headset is selected as the default device.
Update Audio Drivers:
Go to Device Manager (right-click the Start button and select "Device Manager").
Expand the "Sound, video and game controllers" section.
Right-click your audio device and select "Update driver."
Check Discord Settings:
Open Discord and go to User Settings (the gear icon next to your username).
Click on "Voice & Video" under App Settings.
Ensure the correct input device (your microphone or headset) is selected.
Adjust the input volume slider if needed.
