I got this playstation 1 for free from a friend. It would not power on. So I opened it up and soldered the power connectors on the electrical board. A very common problem from frequent insertion and pulling of the power cord in the back of the system. This also happens sometimes to the video outputs on many TVs and game systems. Never throw something away when it could be something simple like the problem on this playstation 1.
