To get started, we will need to download a Minecraft Skin. There is a link in the description above to the Skindex. This is the most popular website for Minecraft skins. There are millions of Minecraft skins to choose from, and they are super easy to search.
You can also make your own Minecraft skin. There is a link to our complete guide on creating a Minecraft skin of your very own in the description above. That video will have you making a custom skin with your exact style.
When downloading a Minecraft skin after finding one, click the gray “Download” button on the right-hand side of the page, and a .png file will download. This is your Minecraft skin file.
Now, we need to open up the Minecraft Launcher. At the top of the Minecraft Launcher, click on the “Skins” tab at the top. Next, click on the “+ New skin” button, and a menu will appear where you can add a new skin.
Enter a name for your Minecraft Skin, and select your player model. Then, click “Browse”. Navigate to the .png skin file you downloaded and select it. Now, back in the Minecraft Launcher, you will see your skin active. Select a cape if you have one, and click “Save & Use” in the bottom right. You have now added a new skin to Minecraft.
You can add multiple skins using this method, and easily switch between them in the Minecraft Launcher by hovering over a skin after you have added it and clicking “Use”. You can add as many skins as you want, but we do recommend backing up the .png file of any skins you love and don’t want to lose just in case the skins in the Minecraft Launcher are every accidentally removed.
With that, you can go into Minecraft, and press F5 on your keyboard to change your camera angle and see your Minecraft skin in-game. Pressing a F5 a few times will provide a third person, front, and back to first person view.
