Onix Information
The location for Onix is in Oreburgh Mine where you can find Onix by a 10% chance. You can also go deep into the cave on Iron Island to find Onix by a 30% chance.
There is a 50% chance that Onix will have the Sturdy ability, and you may therefore want to risk it and use a Super Effective hit on it to knock it down to low HP if you are early in the game. If you have access to Soak, Super Fang and Thunder Wave, it should be no problem for you to catch Onix.
Onix evolves into Steelix through trade. You need to give Onix the Metal Coat item before trading.
