From the PS4 Home Screen, scroll up to access the top menu bar.
Navigate to the far right and select "Settings" (toolbox icon).
Scroll down and select "Account Management."
Choose "Privacy Settings."
Manage Your Friends List Privacy:

Select "Custom" from the Privacy Settings menu.
In the "Friends" section, you can adjust who can see your friends list and your online status.
Change Friends List Settings:

Choose "Friends List" and set the option to "No One" if you want to hide your friends list from everyone.
Choose "Online Status" and set the option to "No One" if you want to hide your online status.
