Step 1: Open the terminal on your #KaliLinux system and update the package list.
Step 2: After updating the repo addresses, install the necessary dependent packages for #GNS3.
Step 3: After installing the dependent packages, download and install the GNS3 GUI and Server.
Step 4: Install dynamips to run Cisco's Router IOS on GNS3.
Step 5: Run GNS3 and after configuring the local server, click Edit / Preferences to add a new IOS.
Step 6: View the Dynamips / IOS Routers settings and click the New button to open the wizard. In the window that opens, add the location of the IOS image and decompress it.
Step 7: Configure the name and platform of the router and do not change the default virtual memory size.
Step 8: You can see that the C7200-IO-FE (FastEthernet) interface is installed by default in the network adapter settings. If you want to add a Serial interface to the Router, you can do it from this window.
Step 9: Determine the Idle-PC value so that the IOS image can work properly and with performance on your computer.
Step 10: Create a new project and add Router, Switch, and VPCS to the workspace from the device category.
Step 11: After wiring all the devices you have added to the workspace, run them and start configuring the devices.
