You can follow the steps below to install and use the GNS3 server in #KaliLinux 2022 distribution.
Step 1: First, visit the links below and install GNS3 and VMware Workstation on your computer.

Step 2: After installing the necessary software, visit the official website of GNS3 from the link below and download the GNS3 VM 2.2.33.1 supported by (VMware Workstation and Fusion) programs to your computer.

Step 3: After downloading the GNS3 VM.ova installation file, open the terminal and extract the archived file to the folder with the unzip command. Then, open your VMware Workstation program and click File / Open from the menu.
Step 4: In the virtual machine opening window, select the file with the OVA extension.
Step 5: Select the location where you want to back up the virtual machine and click Import.
Step 6: After adding the GNS3 virtual machine to VMware Workstation, upgrade the hardware compatibility version to the latest version.
Step 7: Open the settings of the GNS3 server and determine a suitable RAM size according to your PC's hardware resources and enable virtualization features from the processor device settings.
Step 8: Run the GNS3 VM virtual machine and check the IP address.
Step 9: Now, run the GNS3 software and tick Run appliances in a virtual machine in the setup wizard.
Step 10: Do not change the server path location and select the IP block of the #GNS3VM as the host binding address.
Step 11: After successfully connecting to the GNS3 server, proceed to the next step and set up 2 vCPUs for the virtual server and configure an appropriate memory size.
Step 12: After connecting the GNS3 virtual machine, check the summary hardware information and close the wizard.
Step 13: After connecting your GNS3 software and GNS3 VM, click Edit / Preferences and click the New button in the Dynamips / IOS Routers settings in the window that opens, and open the Router wizard.
Step 14: Select Run this IOS router on the GNS3 VM in the IOS Template.
Step 15: Click Browse and select the location to add the Router IOS you downloaded earlier to your computer.
Step 16: Decompress the IOS and wait for it to be uploaded to the server.
Step 17: Finally, set an appropriate Idle-PC value so that the Router can use your PC's processor stably.
Step 18: Close the router wizard and create a new project, and then add the device to the working environment and create a topology.
Step 19: After verifying that the GNS3 VM is running smoothly, you can now prepare for your Cisco exams on your Linux PC.
