Installing Kali Linux: 1:30
Installing Guest Additions: 11:40
Configuring Shared Folder: 17:30
Using USB Flash Memory: 19:10
Controlling Screen Resolution and Drag & Drop: 20:00

You can follow the steps below to create a VirtualBox virtual computer and install the Kali Linux distribution on it.

Step 1: Open #VirtualBox and click the New icon on the homepage to display the virtual machine wizard. After opening the wizard, type the name of the operating system you will install and configure the relevant location on your PC where you want to back up. Finally, for Kali, select Debian (64-bit) from the version section.

Step 2: In the Memory Size settings, set a minimum value of 4 GB or 8 GB for the Kali guest operating system.

Step 3: Select Create a Virtual Hard Disk Now from the Hard Disk settings and click Create.

Step 4: Select VDI (VirtualBox Disk Image) as the Virtual Hard Disk file type.

Step 5: You can back up the virtual disk Dynamically or Fixed on your physical HDD. If you configure this setting to Dynamically Allocated, the disk size of the VM will be allocated from your host disk during the process.

Step 6: Increase the size of the virtual disk to a higher value than the default value and do not change the backup location.

Step 7: After creating the #KaliLinux virtual machine, click Settings.

Step 8: Change Shared Clipboard and Drag'n'Drop to Bidirectional in General / Advanced settings to enable file transfer capabilities between Host PC and VM.

Step 9: Delete Floppy from Boot Order devices in System settings and configure Optical as the primary device.

Step 10: In the Processor settings, increase the number of virtual cores according to the processor of your host computer. You can configure the vCPU value to 2 or 4.

Step 11: After enabling 3D acceleration in Display / Screen settings, configure the video memory as 128 MB.

Step 12: Enable Host I/O Cache in the SATA Controller properties from the Storage settings and select the optical drive and click the image icon to add the ISO file to the virtual machine and choose Choose a disk file.

Step 13: Select the Kali ISO file you downloaded to your PC in the Please choose a virtual optical disk file window.

Step 14: Finally, change the compatibility setting to 3.0 (xHCI) from the USB device settings so that you can use your USB 3.0 devices in the virtual computer.

Step 15: Run the Kali virtual computer and press Enter in the Graphical Install option in the setup wizard.

Step 16: Select your system language in the setup wizard and choose your location according to where you live.

Step 17: Select the keyboard layout you will use in the VM and type your user account name in the next window.

Step 18: Do not change your username and create a password.

Step 19: Select the time zone for the system clock and select Guided - Use Entire Disk in disk configuration.

Step 20: Select your virtual disk for partition operation and if you are a beginner to Linux, choose All Files In One Partition in the next disk setting.

Step 21: In the window containing summary information for the partition operation, select Finish Partitioning and Write Changes to Disk.

Step 22: After checking the partitions to be formatted, select Yes to write the changes to the disk.

Step 23: In the software selection window, select the desktop environment you want to use your system.

Step 24: In the Install the GRUB Boot Loader window, select the disk you want to install the boot menu on.

Step 25: After completing the Kali installation, restart your virtual system.
