Video Transcript:
After linking your Epic Games and YouTube accounts, you'll need to watch specific videos associated with Fortnite on YouTube, which will make you eligible for the in-game loot drops. Connecting your accounts can be done through either the YouTube mobile app or the YouTube website. I'll walk through how to do this on the YouTube website, but you can follow the same instructions to link the accounts in the YouTube app on your iPhone, iPad or Android device.
Now let's walk through the steps to link your Epic Games account to your YouTube account.
Step 1. Open a web browser, navigate to youtube.com, and then make sure you're signed in with the YouTube account you want to link to your Epic Games account. You'll land on your YouTube home screen.
Step 2. Click your profile icon in the upper right corner of the YouTube home screen to open a drop-down menu, and then click "Settings" in the drop-down menu. Your YouTube account screen appears.
Step 3. Click "Connected Accounts" in the Settings menu along the left edge of the screen. The Connected Accounts screen appears.
Step 4. Locate the Connect Your Accounts section at the bottom of the Connected Accounts screen. Click the blue "Connect" button to the right of Epic Games in this list. A dialog box appears, informing you what information you'll be sharing with both Epic and YouTube.
Step 5. Click the blue "Connect" button in the dialog box to continue. Another dialog box appears, prompting you to move forward with the process. Click "Continue." An Epic Games account sign in screen appears.
Step 6. Enter the email address and password associated with your Epic Games account, and then click "Log In Now." The Epic Games Request for Permission screen appears, informing you that YouTube is asking you for permission to access your account information, and what YouTube will have access to.
Step 7. Click "Allow" if you want to move forward. An Accounts Connected dialog box appears, informing you that you can now watch select Fortnite live streams for chances to get in-game rewards. Click "Got It" in the dialog box. The dialog box closes and you're returned to the Connected Account screen, where you'll see Epic Games displayed as connected.
You can unlink your YouTube and Epic Games account at any time by navigating back to this screen and clicking "Connected." A dialog box appears with an option to disconnect your YouTube and Epic Games accounts. Click "Disconnect" to disconnect your accounts.
