How to Turn Hulu Subtitles On and Off

First, let's walk through the steps to turn Hulu subtitles on and off on Roku.
Step 1. Press the "Asterisk" button on your Roku remote while the show you want to turn subtitles on or off for is playing. The Options menu appears on the screen.
Step 2. Highlight "Closed Captioning" in the menu using the Roku remote, and then press "Right" on the directional pad until On Always appears. Subtitles will now be turned on for your Hulu show.
You can turn subtitles off at any time by navigating back to this screen and setting Closed Captioning to "Off."
Now let's look at how to turn Hulu subtitles on and off in the Hulu app on iPhone, iPad and Android devices.
Step 1. Tap your iPhone, iPad or Android screen while the Hulu show you want to turn subtitles on or off for is playing. The onscreen menu appears.
Step 2. Tap the "Settings" icon in the upper right corner of the screen. The Settings icon looks like a gear. A menu appears with options for Video Quality, Subtitles and Captions, and Subtitle Language.
Step 3. Tap to place the radio button in the circle to the left of "On" beneath Subtitles and Captions.
Step 4. Tap "X" in the upper right corner of the screen to close the menu and return to your Hulu show, where subtitles will now be turned on.
You can turn subtitles off at any time by navigating back to the Subtitles and Captions menu, and then setting that option to "Off."
Next let's look at how to turn Hulu subtitles on and off on Xbox One.
Step 1. Press "Up" on the left analog stick while watching a Hulu show to bring up a menu, and then flick up on the left analog stick again to view the Subtitles and Captions menu.
Step 2. Move the selector bar above "On" beneath Subtitles and Captions and then press "A." Press "B" to back out to continue watching your Hulu show, which will now be displayed with subtitles.
You can turn subtitles off at any time by navigating back to the Subtitles and Captions screen, and then setting that option to "Off."
And finally, let's walk through the steps to turn subtitles on and off on the Hulu.com website.
Step 1. Move your cursor over the video that's playing until the onscreen controls appear.
Step 2. Click the "Settings" icon in the lower left corner of the screen. The Settings icon looks like a gear. A small menu appears.
Step 3. Click "Subtitles Audio" toward the top of the menu. The Subtitles Audio screen appears.
Step 4. Set the subtitles to "English." The subtitles for your show will automatically appear on the screen. You can turn the subtitles off at any time by navigating back to this screen, and clicking "Off" beneath Subtitles.
