How to Make a Pie Chart in Excel
1In this video I’ll be showing you how to make a pie chart in Excel. You can make a pie chart by first selecting the data, then click the Quick Analysis button. This button will show up automatically when the data has been selected. With the Quick Analysis menu open you can select Charts and select pie chart. Alternatively, you can go to Insert and select pie chart from here.
There are several ways that you can customize the appearance of your pie chat in Excel. With the pie chart selected you can change which elements appear on the chart. This allows you to add or remove elements, such as the title and legend.
Meanwhile, you can select the paint brush icon to change the style of pie chart and the colors used. However, the color options are limited to preset templates that you can select from. Additionally, you can go to the Chart Design tab to make further changes to how your pie chart looks in Excel.
If you want to change the colors of a pie chart then you can select the segment you want to change and go to the Format options. With the Format Data Series menu open you can adjust the fill of any segment of the pie chart and use custom colors.
You can resize a pie chart by select it and dragging out one of the corners. Dragging out a corner will make the pie chart bigger, while dragging it in will make it smaller. Additionally, you can click and drag on the chart itself to move it to the position that you want it.
