How to Make a Welcome Message with Nightbot
108Nightbot commands allow you to create a welcome message that will be sent to any user that greets you in your chat. The welcome message is setup using commands for popular phrases or greetings, such as “hello”, “hey” and “hi”. Whenever a viewer sends one of these messages in the chat, they will be welcomed by Nightbot.
The welcome message is completely customization and can say anything you’d like. A user tag can also be used to mention the user receiving the welcome message.
The easiest way to setup multiple trigger words or commands is using the Nightbot alias feature. This allows you to create a new command name and have Nightbot recognize it as the same command, replying with the same response.
It is also good practice to include a cool down period for your welcome messages. This prevents the chat from being spammed by Nightbot welcoming viewers. It also prevents your viewers from abusing the feature.
