How to Make: Mew Marionette Puppet | Kanto Generation 1 | DIY Crafts from Scratch
342The RAREST Pokemon comes to Tommy's Puppet Lab! The Mythical Pokemon Mew! This psychic kitty can do tons of things, including floating on his back. This Kanto Pokemon is VERY playful! This video game marionette is very easy to use and lightweight! If you want to own the rarest Legendary Pokemon, this puppet tutorial is for you! All paper mache! Mew is very playful, curious, and selfless! However they are extremely shy and will only reveal themselves to the pure of heart! Mew will endow you with an amazing amount of spiritual and psychic energy and can shapeshift into any form!
I personally chose to make this Pokemon because I have a special connection with Mew. Mew reminds me of my own spirituality and how extremely free willed it is. I love it's carefree and free spirited nature. When I saw Pokemon the First Movie, it's battle with Mewtwo was epic and I wish it lasted a bit longer. It's cry and appearance made my heart melt and I just needed this Pokemon in my life! I was also amazed that the video game designer programmed Mew into Red/Blue without TELLING ANYONE about it! It surprised so many fans that this Pokemon existed and just added to the mystery. One day I hope to make Mewtwo!
I made this puppet according to Bulbapedia:
"Mew is a pink, bipedal Pokémon with mammalian features. It has a rounded, wide snout; triangular ears; and large, blue eyes. It has short arms with three-fingered paws and large hind paws with oval markings on the soles. Its tail is long and thin with an ovoid tip. Its fur is so fine and thin, it can only be seen under a microscope. Mew is said to have the DNA of every single Pokémon contained within its body, allowing Mew to learn and use any attack."

MATERIALS NEEDED:
-Newspaper
-White glue
-Tissue or toilet paper
-Large Paintbrush
-Scissors and razor blade (very sharp, be careful)
-Brushes and paint
-Cardboard
-Hot glue
-Masking tape
-Gloves (for handling hot glue guns)
-3 Paint mixing sticks (free at any paint department)
-Strings
-Drill (making holes in sticks)
-Chain and wire cutter
-Safety glasses and gloves
-Flexible wire (careful when handling cut wire, SHARP)
-Pink pipe cleaners
-Pure heart (Mew can only be seen by those who have a pure heart)
