On January 6 the world was shocked by a riot at Capital Hill. The world must have been terrified watching the out of control behaviors and the unrefined mindset of the rioters. It's one thing to express one's political and religious beliefs. But it's another thing to terrorize the land, disregard the hardworking of American citizens and slaves, and the American process of exercising constitutional rights.
Despite the above trauma recently experienced, we are all trying to "start over" from 2020's traumas and the chaos that we all experienced in one way or another. Trying to find a way to feel motivated can feel like a treasure hunt. Getting motivated is difficult when you are feeling depressed, anxious, or uncertain. Not feeling motivated is often a hallmark feature of depression alongside negative thoughts, poor appetite, poor sleep patterns, and isolation. In fact, not feeling motivated can also be a sign of PTSD or acute trauma symptoms.
