How to Nail the Faulconer Sound: Synth/Soundfont Tutorial
Hello and welcome everybody! This is my first music tutorial on the channel and I go over how you can get the same sounds that Faulconer, Smith, Dobos, and Morgan used in Dragon Ball Z (Funimation). In this video, I mainly use the Ginyu Force theme to showcase the synths. This video won't go over composition or anything related to writing music for a scene or making covers.
If I did something like that the video would be even longer than it is now. I had about 10 hours of footage and I managed to cut it down to around 2 hours. There are a few things that I probably missed as this is a very comprehensive video.
This tutorial was going to be a follow-up to my synth video from the 2018: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQTOo1LFKlA
Since many people have asked me about the synths and my previous videos were more of a showcase rather than a tutorial I figured I would clarify how to get the sound. I was thinking of doing this video back in August of last year but, I couldn't be bothered to record a video. Fortunately, I had the time to do it, however, my main cameras are on the fritz. My webcam was the only camera that I could use to record my synths and stuff, so sorry about that. It's also easier for me as I don't to mess around with SD cards and lighting :P
You should keep in mind these synths will cost anywhere from USD 200 to USD 1000 depending on the condition. Using Facebook marketplace and eBay will be necessary for this. I mainly bought my synths from Reverb which is a good site to use for acquiring used gear.
