As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, pinning a chat in WhatsApp is a feature that allows you to prioritize and keep specific chats at the top of your chat list for easy access. Here's how you can pin a chat in WhatsApp:

For Android:

1. Open WhatsApp on your Android device.

2. In the chat list, find the chat that you want to pin.

3. Long press on the chat until a toolbar appears at the top of the screen.

4. Look for a pin icon (it typically looks like a thumbtack) in the toolbar.

5. Tap on the pin icon, and the selected chat will be pinned to the top.

For iPhone:

1. Open WhatsApp on your iPhone.

2. Go to the Chats tab.

3. Find the chat that you want to pin.

4. Swipe right on the chat until you see "Pin."

5. Tap on "Pin," and the chat will be pinned to the top.

Additional Notes:

- You can pin up to three chats at the top in WhatsApp.

- To unpin a chat, repeat the process. Long press on the pinned chat, and you should see an option to unpin it.

- Pinned chats will remain at the top, even if you receive new messages from other contacts.
