On Defending Side:
Your goal is to protect you team and let them do damage from behind your shield.
Use your shield as much as possible.
Let it recharge to 2000 instead of immediately putting it back up when available.
Charge only if you will end up in a safe place with teammates.
Never dive into and area where your healer can die; your shield is crucial to both of your lives.
Use your ult when it buys overtime, saves a valuable teammate, will kill a crucial enemy, or cancels an ult.
On attacking side:
Shield isn't as important to your team's survival.
Use ult when it buys you good distance or saves teammates.
On both sides:
Stay behind the payload.
Protect your healer(s).
Use firestrike as often as possible.
Use shield to protect team from ults like Zarya's graviton and D.Va's self-destruct.
