How to Play Split Screen with 2 Joy Con Controllers on Nintendo Switch (Easy Method)
To play split-screen with two Joy-Con controllers on your Nintendo Switch, follow these steps:
Detach the Joy-Cons: Turn on your Nintendo Switch and detach both Joy-Con controllers from the console. You can do this by pressing the black button on the back of each Joy-Con and pushing them up to fully detach them.
Attach the Joy-Con Straps (optional): If you have the Joy-Con straps, attach them to the top of each Joy-Con. This provides a more tactile button surface for you and your friend.
Navigate to Controller Settings: From the home screen, select the Controllers icon located along the bottom edge of your display (it’s the third circular button from the right). This will take you to the Controller Menu where you can manage your Joy-Cons.
Change Grip/Order: Tap or select “Change Grip/Order.” Unlock the left Joy-Con by pressing the black button on its back and pushing it up to detach it from the console. Do the same for the right Joy-Con.
Pair the Joy-Cons: Press the SL and SR bumper buttons at the top of each Joy-Con. Wait for both Joy-Cons to appear in the list of controllers on your screen.
Confirm the Configuration: Press the A button to confirm your new controller configuration. Hand the second Joy-Con to your friend or family member.
Start Your Game: Open your favorite game that supports two-player mode. Select the two-player mode from the game’s menu and enjoy playing together! Remember, you can always switch back to single-player mode by returning to the Controller Menu. Have fun gaming!
