How to Hide or Disable your Default Microphone on OBS Audio Mixer (Mic/Aux Setting)

To disable your default microphone in OBS (Open Broadcaster Software), follow these steps:

Hover Over the Mic Icon:
Open OBS and go to the Audio Mixer section.

Find the microphone (Mic/Aux) volume line.
Hover over the speaker symbol next to the microphone volume slider.
Click on it to turn the speaker symbol red with an “X.”

This action will prevent your voice from being added to the recorded video1.
And that’s it! Your default microphone will no longer contribute to the audio in your OBS recordings. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!
