How to Reset & Restore Default Settings for File Explorer Folders on Windows 11
If you want to reset and restore File Explorer's folder settings to their default state on Windows 11, follow these steps:
1. Reset Folder Settings for All Folders
Open File Explorer Options:
Press Win + S, type File Explorer Options, and select it from the search results.
Alternatively, open File Explorer (Win + E), click the View menu (three dots in the toolbar), and choose Options.
Go to the View Tab:
In the File Explorer Options window, click the View tab.
Restore Default View Settings:
Click the Reset Folders button under the "Folder views" section.
Confirm the prompt asking if you want to reset the folder views to their default settings.
Restore Advanced Settings:
In the same View tab, click Restore Defaults under the "Advanced settings" section.
Click Apply and OK to save changes.
