This tutorial by Edwin Braun on thinkingParticles 6 Drop 6 latest new feature, the All Purpose Field shows a Setup using a straightforward H Node to PositionBorn with StandardShape and Size.
(Please follow cebas Youtube Channel for alerts of new tutorials)
In the Dynamic Setup, AP-Field Operator is always set first - this is important to note that APF Operator must always be set first.
In the menu, there is also a setting called Cell Reduce where you can reduce particles/vectors-heavy volumes such as to 5th or 8th , etc. (meaning drawing only on every 5th or 8th cell) For this setup, it is at '0'.
Coming to how to fill / wire in our vectors into the volume?
A 'C' - Condition is set with TimeInterval so that Volume Data to the first frame. In other words, the APF-Initiator is called upon once for its good works.
APF-Initiator outputs to the Cell Position. And the Cell Position is wired into other field operator : The Field Operator is APF Accumulate (stores data / Cell Rel Pos outputs to the X-Value of Point3) Y, Z : '0'. Then wired to H Freq (Sine Wave) to Helper Sine.
The Y-Value multiplier is used here to control the Sine wave. H Sine is a simple math helper that feeds in the X-Value. H Amplitude controls the strength of the Sine frequency. Here X-Value is a constant of '1' (moving left to right). Vector H Point3 is fed with H Math and the H Float (elongation i.e. increase vector size) so all in all increases the strength of the velocity.
All the aforementioned feeds into the Field.
APF Output Operator as the name implies output to the velocity of the particles. The effect is a Sine wave that outputs as a velocity. You can double the Frequency to a Value of 4 and you get more wave in the same space. Try Value 2 and you see a recalculation.
APField Operator 'End of Range' EOR has three options:
1) LOOP: the particles volume will repeat on all edges and just goes on....Velocity and frequency does not dissipates.
2) KILL PARTICLES : particles die off upon reaching end of wave and remains in the grid.
3) NONE: particles continue out from the grid. Velocity and frequency gradually dissipates.
