How To Solve & Fix !Workshop DayZ Mod Folder / Directory Missing, Even When Hidden Folders Shown
What should happen when DayZ starts for the first time on your PC, the game creates a !Workshop folder inside the main DayZ directory, and this is where you'll find the Steam Workshop Mods that you've subscribed too (or at least short-cuts to where they really are.)
Normally if you cannot find or see the Workshop folder, all you need to do is to check the folder options in Windows, and make sure that you can view "hidden files and folders."
There are however, situations where DayZ did not create the DayZ folder, and no matter what you do you won't find it, because it simply isn't there.
This happened to me on a ROG Ally Windows 11 handheld gaming PC.
To solve and fix the missing Workshop mods folder problem, I uninstalled & then reinstalled DayZ, making sure to put it on my "c" drive.
As soon as I fired up DayZ this time, it created the !Workshop folder, complete with mods.
The above info was believed to be correct as of DayZ Update Patch 1.24, April 2024.
Thanks, Rob.
