How to Take a Screenshot on Xbox Series X|S & View Captures (Best Method)
Taking a screenshot on the Xbox Series X|S is a quick and easy way to capture your best gaming moments. The process is streamlined thanks to the new Share button on the updated Xbox Wireless Controller. Viewing and managing your captures is just as simple, with several options available on the console, in the mobile app, and on a PC.
How to Take a Screenshot
The best method for taking a screenshot is using the dedicated Share button on your controller.
Press the Share button: A quick, single press of the Share button (the one in the center of the controller, between the View and Menu buttons) will instantly take a screenshot of your screen.
Wait for the notification: A notification will appear in the top right corner of your screen, confirming that the screenshot has been saved.
Alternative Method (for older controllers):
If you're using an older Xbox One controller that doesn't have a Share button, you can still take a screenshot.
Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Press the Y button to capture a screenshot.
How to View and Manage Your Captures
Your captures are saved to your console's hard drive and automatically uploaded to the Xbox network by default (unless you've changed the settings). This makes them accessible from multiple devices.
On Your Console:
Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Navigate to the "Capture & share" tab (the icon with a screen and an arrow).
Select "Recent captures." This will show you a list of your most recent screenshots and video clips.
Select "Show all" to view your entire library of captures.
