How to Turn OFF XBOX with TIMER Settings (Best Method)
The Xbox Series X|S does not have a "sleep timer" in the traditional sense, like a TV or media player where you set a specific time for it to turn off. Instead, it uses an inactivity timer to automatically shut down the console after a period of no use. You can customize this timer to your liking.
Here is the best method to set the inactivity timer on your Xbox Series X|S:
Open the Settings Menu: Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide, and then navigate to Profile & system - Settings.
Go to Power options: In the Settings menu, select General - Power options.
Choose "Customize power options": You will see your current power mode. To access the timer settings, select Customize power options.
Adjust the "Turn off after" settings: Under the customize menu, you'll find two different timers:
Turn off after (when playing games): This timer controls when the console shuts off after a period of no activity while you're gaming or on the home screen. You can set this from 10 minutes up to 6 hours, or select "Do not turn off automatically."
Turn off after (when watching videos/music): This timer is separate and is specifically for when you're using media apps like Netflix, YouTube, or Spotify. You can set this timer from 2 hours up to 6 hours, or choose "Do not turn off automatically."
