How to Turn Off Navigation Sounds & Notifications on Xbox Series X|S (Best Method)
3The Xbox Series X|S includes a few different types of sounds: the navigation clicks you hear when moving through the dashboard, and the sounds that accompany notifications. You can easily mute both of these through the settings.
Here is the best method to turn off navigation sounds and notification sounds:
Open the Settings Menu: Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide, and then navigate to Profile & system - Settings.
Go to Volume & audio output: In the Settings menu, select General, and then choose Volume & audio output.
Find "Additional options": On the right side of the screen, you may need to go to a section called Advanced and then Additional options.
Mute the sounds: You'll find two separate settings here that you can check or uncheck:
Mute navigation sounds: This will silence the "click" or "thump" you hear when moving between icons on the dashboard and in menus.
Mute notification sounds: This will silence the sound that plays when you get a pop-up notification for an achievement, a message, or a friend coming online. The visual notification will still appear on your screen, but it will be silent.
