Here's how to create a dull and boring concept, and turn it into something flashy and cool. I'm making very slight changes to the attack, first off, by giving it a delay using the {onGround:1b} tag.
This is followed by a particle effect and sound effect using /playsound and /particle.
An additional particle effect is added to prepare for the attack.
Finally, a crafting recipe is added to allow for customization of the item with enchantments and custom names.
