Method 1: The Easiest Method (Using a Gamertag)
This is the most direct and common way to add a friend if you know their Gamertag.
Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
Navigate to the People tab. This is the icon with two people.
Select "Find someone." It's located at the top of your friends list.
Enter your friend's Gamertag using the on-screen keyboard. Make sure to spell it correctly, including any numbers or special characters.
Select the correct Gamertag from the search results.
