How to Undo Mistake using OBS with Control + Z (Easy Tutorial)
Ctrl + Z is a common keyboard shortcut for undoing actions in various applications. However, it’s important to note that not all programs support this feature universally. Here are some details on how to undo using Ctrl + Z in different contexts:
General Windows Applications:
Press Ctrl + Z to undo the most recent action you performed. You can repeat this shortcut to go back multiple steps if the application supports it.
To redo an action (i.e., revert an undo), press Ctrl + Y or Ctrl + Alt + Z1.
OBS Studio:
Unfortunately, OBS Studio does not natively support an undo feature like Ctrl + Z.
The reason for this is that OBS Studio was not originally designed with undo behavior in mind. Actions taken in the UI directly modify the data without being wrapped into an “undo unit.”
Implementing undo functionality would require converting every possible action in OBS Studio into an undo unit and writing code to reverse those actions. This is a complex task.
Alternative Solution:
If you accidentally make a mistake in OBS Studio, consider manually reverting the change by adjusting settings or repositioning sources.
Additionally, you can create a rolling backup of your settings by saving them to a text file. Then, if needed, you can revert to the previous backup
