How to add TEXT to OBS background (Easy Tutorial)
Adding text to your OBS background is a useful way to enhance your live streams or recordings. Here’s how you can do it:
Create a Scene in OBS:
Open OBS Studio and create a new scene where you want to add the text overlay.
Include any other sources (such as game/webcam footage) that you normally use in your broadcasts1.
Add a Text Source:
Right-click within the Sources menu and choose “Add” - “Text.”
Give your text box a name (this is the source name, not the actual content that will be displayed).
Customize the Text:
Double-click on the newly added text source to open its properties.
Enter the desired text in the text box.
Customize the font, size, color, and other appearance options under the text menu.
Position and Resize:
In the preview window, position the text where you want it to appear on your screen.
Resize the text by clicking and dragging the red squares along the text outline.
Background and Transparency:
If you want a transparent background around your custom text, create the text with a transparent background (e.g., export it as a .PNG file from Photoshop or GIMP).
You can also add a background color to the text source to avoid conflicts with other elements on your screen.
Preview and Go Live:
Preview your scene to ensure the text overlay looks as desired.
When ready, go live or start recording with the text overlay included
